Itineraries

Day 1

Pick up from Airport, Nairobi Animal Orphanage, David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage, & Giraffe Centre

Our guide will meet you at the airport as they will be at the airport around 30 minutes before your flight arrives to welcome you to Kenya.

After introductions and a quick overview of your safari, the guide will lead you to your airport transfer vehicle which will transport you to your 4x4 luxury safari Land Cruiser, which will proceed to the Nairobi Animal Orphanage and then to David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage at 11 a.m.

The Nairobi Animal Orphanage is a care and rehabilitation center for wild animals and birds located within Nairobi National Park.

Animals found here include lions, cheetahs, jackals, warthogs, leopards, buffalo, baboons, Sokoke cats, and monkeys.

You will also see several birds at close range, such as crowned cranes, parrots, guinea fowls, and ostriches.

You might get the opportunity to see the rangers feed the animals and take some photos for a memorable experience at this Nairobi attraction.

Later, the safari guide will drive you out of the animal orphanage and take you to the elephant orphanage.

David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage is a home for orphaned elephants taken care of by Sheldrick Trust before being integrated into the wild later in their lives. Here you will learn more about the Trust’s conservation work for elephants and have an opportunity to see young elephants and some rhinos.

Visiting time at the orphanage is limited between 11 am and 12 noon to reduce the contact hours between animals and humans. The animals are expected to be released back to their natural habitat after some years at the orphanage.

After this, you will check into a hotel where you will have lunch and rest for some time before you are taken to visit the Giraffe Centre in the afternoon.

Betty and Jock Leslie Melville established the center in 1979 to protect the vulnerable Rothschild giraffes found only in East African grasslands.

Apart from learning more about these tall-necked animals, you will enjoy feeding them on raised platforms, creating a close bond with them.

By early evening you will head to your hotel for the night in anticipation of the following day’s experience, out of the capital.

Day 2

Transfer to Ol Pejeta & Afternoon Game Drive Ol Pejeta Conservancy.

The day will begin with an early breakfast, followed by our guide picking you up to begin the 3-hour travel to Nanyuki.

Nanyuki is located northwest of Mount Kenya, and along the trip, you will be able to observe Africa's second-tallest snowcapped mountain.

You should arrive in Nanyuki around lunchtime, but before checking into your hotel, you will visit the Equator Marker near Nanyuki Town. Nanyuki Town is one of Kenya's few settlements where the Equator crosses.

Near the monument, there is also a small market selling African ethnic costumes and curios.

You will learn an interesting fact about how water behaves on different sides of the latitude at the marker. The experiment is charged a small fee of around USD 5.

The tour will help you check into the hotel and then leave you to eat lunch and rest. In addition, you will go on an afternoon wildlife drive in Ol Pejeta Conservancy.

The Ol Pejeta Conservancy sits on the Equator, west of Nanyuki Town and Mt Kenya, and east of the Aberdare Ranges.

As you return to the hotel following the afternoon game drive, you will be treated to a stunning vista of the setting sun lowering over the slopes of Aberdare.

Day 3

Full-Day Game Drive at Ol Pejeta Conservancy

After breakfast on your third day of a Kenya family safari package, you go on a full-day safari into the conservancy.
You will get a unique opportunity to witness the two Northern White Rhinos that remain in the world, which makes Ol Pejeta renowned.
Being the largest black rhino refuge in East Africa, there are also a lot of black rhinos there.
A unique feature of Ol Pejeta Conservancy is the presence of chimpanzees that have been saved from all over the world. You will get to know these amazing primates, feed them, and snap priceless pictures with them.
During your game drive in Ol Pejeta, you will see a variety of different creatures in addition to rhinos and chimps. As it will be early in the morning, be ready to snap some amazing shots of lions and cheetahs, among other carnivores, pursuing their prey.
What about warthogs scuttling around and grazing in the luxuriant African savanna grassland with gazelles and zebras? These are all experiences that you won't soon forget.
It is ideal for a packed lunch in the forest at midday since it will already be hot and many animals will have gone into hiding or to their resting areas.

To round off an amazing day at Ol Pejeta, the safari guide will take you on a wildlife drive in the afternoon after lunch.

This time, you will also probably see the cats going hunting, various birds on their way to their nests, and a host of other creatures you may have overlooked the last time.

It will be time to get back to your hotel in the late evening to spend the night there. You will pass several creatures that come to life at dusk on your route.

Day 4 - 5

Transfer to Aberdare & Afternoon Game Drive at Aberdare National Park

Aberdare National Park is the destination of your family's safari vacation. Around nine in the morning, you will eat breakfast and begin this little adventure. The two locations are close together, so by midday, you should be checking into one of the well-known hotels in the park, where you can unwind and have lunch. You're going to the park later for a game drive.

A thrilling wildlife drive through one of Kenya's most breathtakingly picturesque areas awaits you. Situated on the eastern escarpment of the Great Rift Valley, the Aberdare Mountains are around 150 km east of Nairobi and home to Aberdare National Park.

There are many additional attractions besides animals, such as spectacular mountain scenery, waterfalls, fishing, hiking, and other activities. The park also holds a vital piece of global history, since it is here, at Treetops Lodge, when Princess Elizabeth succeeded to the throne following the death of his father.

Among the animals seen on the game drive are forest elephants, buffalos, antelopes, waterbucks, lions, and black rhinos. After wandering about, it will be nighttime, and you will return to your hotel, where you will be treated to various animal and bird noises throughout the night.

Today's game drive will begin early, and our guide will pick you up shortly after breakfast, ready to go. You'll take several paths to attempt to spot some of the area's uncommon creatures, such as the black leopard, black serval, mountain bongo, suni, and bushbuck.

By 1 p.m., you'll be deep within the African bush, listening to the melodious songs of various birds and the chattering of cheeky monkeys. It'll be time for another expedition after the great meal.

The tour will take you to several locations within the park. The park's towering mountain peaks, deep ravines, bamboo forest flora, and spectacular waterfalls are just some of the highlights.

You'll be able to photograph the breathtaking scenery, and if the weather permits, you may even go on a trek.

Day 6

Transfer to Nakuru and Afternoon Game Drive at Lake Nakuru National Park

Breakfast should be finished by 8 a.m., and you will be transferred to Lake Nakuru, where you will have a unique experience. Lake Nakuru is a saltwater lake in Kenya's Great Rift Valley, noted for the flamingos who flock here to feed on the algae.

Lake Nakuru National Park, Kenya's smallest park, is surrounded by a vast range of animals, birds, and plant species.

Before continuing to Nakuru, you will stop at Nyahururu Falls, which is about 3 kilometers from Nyahururu Town and is located at an elevation of 2,360 meters inside the Aberdare habitat.

Nyahururu Falls, also known as Thompsons Falls, is a 74-meter waterfall on the Ewaso Ng'iro River in North Eastern Kenya, which flows from Aberdare to Lorian Swamp. You'll shoot some shots with the falls in the background while also getting some fresh air.

You will then proceed directly to Lake Nakuru.

You'll arrive in Nakuru about midday, where you'll check into a hotel, have lunch, and recover before heading out on an afternoon wildlife drive in the park. Because the park encompasses around 188 km2, our guide will be able to drive you to most sections of the park between 2 and 6 p.m.

Aside from flamingos, Lake Nakuru is home to over 400 other bird species, including the African Fish Eagle, the brilliant sunbird, and the slender-billed greenbul.

There are black and white rhinos, buffalos, Rothschild's giraffes, lions, and impalas among the creatures found here. After this drive during your family vacation in Kenya, you will return to your hotel for dinner and lodging.

Day 7

Morning Game Drive at Lake Nakuru and transfer to Masai Mara

After breakfast, you will be treated to another wildlife drive in Lake Nakuru National Park on this day.

Today you will head to Flamingo Hill, where you will be able to photograph lionesses lounging on tree branches.

Makalia camp is another thrilling location where you are likely to see another of the big five, the leopard.

Other species you may see are hippos in the rivers, giraffes, cheetahs lounging, and primarily white rhinos grazing.

You will be picked up at 10 a.m. for transport to Masai Mara in Narok, a two-hour drive from Nakuru Town. You'll arrive in Narok Town at about 2 p.m., where you'll pause for a late lunch before continuing with the safari.

It will also be an excellent opportunity to stretch and purchase any items you may have neglected to get in Nakuru.

The remainder of the travel will take around 2 hours. You'll arrive at Masai Mara in the evening, where you'll settle into your tent and unwind.

Day 8

Full-Day Game Drive at Masai Mara National Reserve.

Today, you will visit the world's most well-known reserve. After breakfast, our guide will take you on a game drive.

The world's eighth wonder, the wildebeest migration, which occurs from July to October, is the main tourist attraction here.

During this period, thousands of wildebeest cross the crocodile-infested Mara River from the Serengeti plains to Masai Mara in search of fresh grass and to breed.

The African Big Five, which includes lions, buffalos, leopards, rhinos, and elephants, are another major draw in Masai Mara.

You will also see gazelles, antelopes, zebras, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs, and giraffes since you will have plenty of time to explore.

Day 9

Hot Air Balloon ride, Visit a Maasai Village, & Evening Game Drive

Nothing makes the Mara journey more memorable than combining a game drive with a hot air balloon tour of the park. Flying high over the Masai Mara provides an unforgettable safari experience that you will remember for many years.

The never-ending vista below of riverine woods and wide savannahs mixed with the morning gold rays of the rising sun gives a unique experience.

This will also provide an opportunity to observe many creatures and birds come out of their hiding spots from a vantage point.

The hot air balloon safari concludes with a wonderful breakfast in the jungle before heading out on another wildlife drive.

This time, you'll take a different route than before to catch any animals or birds you may have missed.

After the wildlife drive, you will go to one of the Maasai communities to see their true lifestyle.

They dwell on the outskirts of Masai Mara and consider themselves stewards of this vast reserve.

Many young Maasai serve as guides and guards in the park.

The Maasai are mostly nomadic pastoralists with a distinct culture marked by colorful clothing adorned with many beads and pieces of jewelry.

You will get the opportunity to feel like one of them as you dress up and join in the dances. A visit to a Maasai hamlet will undoubtedly provide you with a deeper knowledge of this world-renowned culture. You may even bring part of the regalia back home to remember.

Following that, there will be time to return to the camp for lunch and relax before the final game drive of the day later in the day. The evening game drive will allow you to watch the predators in action as well as any other animals you may not have seen before.

Day 10

Transfer to Naivasha, Boat Ride at Lake Naivasha & Walking Safari at Crescent Island

After breakfast, you will depart Masai Mara for Naivasha, a journey that will take around 3 hours.

You should arrive in Naivasha at about lunchtime. You will check into your accommodation in Naivasha, have lunch, and rest before exploring Lake Naivasha.

Lake Naivasha, located about 50 kilometers southwest of Nairobi, is one of the few freshwater lakes in the Great Rift Valley.

The lake and its surrounding islands are home to a variety of wild animals and birds, including pelicans and eagles.

Taking a boat trip around the lake is one of the activities available here. You'll like it when you go up close and personal with certain aquatic animals like hippos.

Following that, you will go to Crescent Island for a walking safari to enjoy one of Kenya's most stunning islands.

You will observe a variety of species on the island, including zebras, waterbucks, elands, impalas, and giraffes, in addition to enjoying the tranquil and calming fresh air.

The island's flat topography makes it simple to explore, and it's also safe because there are no hazardous creatures like lions and cheetahs here.

It will be evening by the time you finish, and you will return to your hotel for the night, where you will eat and sleep.

Day 11

Your Plan

You will be transferred to Amboseli National Park today, and the journey will begin shortly after breakfast.

Although there are many other creatures in this park, it is most known for its large population of African elephants.

You will stop at the Great Rift Valley Viewpoint to stretch your legs and snap some shots with this massive valley in the background.

The Great Rift Valley is a long and vast valley that stretches from Lebanon in Asia to Mozambique in Southeast Africa.

You will arrive at Amboseli National Park about midday and settle into a hotel before having lunch.

Following that, you will go on an afternoon wildlife drive where you will have the opportunity to witness big herds of elephants eating up close.

Other creatures and birds you'll encounter include zebras, giraffes, cranes, eagles, ostriches, cheetahs, and wildebeests.

It will be a long day, and following the game drive, you will return to your accommodation for the night, where you may see some of the nocturnal wildlife.

Day 12

Morning & Afternoon Game Drive at Amboseli National Park

You'll return to the hotel at 1 p.m. for a sumptuous lunch before departing on another exciting game drive to see what you might have missed.

You will also get the opportunity to explore Lake Amboseli. During the dry season, the lake draws animals and birds and is an excellent place to observe them.

Day 13

Transfer to Tsavo West & Afternoon Game Drive at Tsavo West National Park

Tsavo West National Park, Kenya's largest park, encompasses an area of roughly 9,065 square kilometers.

The drive to Tsavo West will take around 2 hours. You will, however, make a stopover at Lake Challa. Lake Challa is a remarkable old crater lake located roughly 30 kilometers southeast of Mt Kilimanjaro and approximately 20 kilometers north of Taveta.

The lake is located at a height of around 800 meters and is mostly fed by subterranean streams that originate in the mountain's montane forest.

Aside from the spectacular view of the lake, you will also see several creatures and birds, such as peregrine falcons, blue monkeys, kudus, baboons, and dik-dik.

Upon arrival, you will settle into a hotel, eat lunch, and then proceed to the park for an afternoon wildlife drive.

Elephants, giraffes, antelopes, black rhinos, zebras, gerenuk, and other creatures that feed mostly in the afternoon will be seen.

After a successful game drive, you will return to your hotel for supper and an overnight stay.

Day 14

Full-Day Game Drive at Tsavo West National Park with Packed Lunch

Following an early breakfast, our guide will pick you up and take you on a full-day wildlife drive in Tsavo West National Park.

Despite the park's size, you will cover the majority of its key trails, particularly those you did not visit the day before.

This time, keep an eye out for carnivorous animals such as lions and cheetahs hunting as herbivores flee for safety.

By 1 p.m., many animals will have taken a break from the hot sun, and this is the optimum time to rest while eating your packed lunch.

After lunch, you'll go on another exhilarating game drive, this time focusing on beautiful views like Mzima Springs.

Mzima Springs is a group of four natural springs that originate in a natural reservoir beneath the Chyulu Hills.

The spring is one of the park's key attractions.

Hippos, Nile crocodiles, vervet monkeys, and numerous birds that feed on the abundant fruits may be seen around the springs.

Expect to see rhinos, gazelles, elephants, impalas, and other animals around the spring come to drink.

Day 15

Your Plan

Today, you will go to the seaside town of Mombasa, one of Kenya's oldest settlements. The trek begins at around 6 a.m. After breakfast, you will be transferred to Mombasa to tour Fort Jesus.

You will discover more about the town's old past as you visit some of its numerous historical and cultural attractions during the trip.

A Mombasa tour, however, would be incomplete without a visit to the famed Fort Jesus. A historic structure constructed by the Portuguese in 1593.

Fort Jesus was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2011, and a visit here will teach you more about the past battles for control of the area. After exploring Mombasa Town, you will be transferred to the magnificent Diani Beach, where you will check into a hotel and relax for the remainder of the day.

Day 16

Spend the Day at Diani Beach or Hotel

Today, you will either enjoy the pleasant environment of Diani Beach or rest at the hotel.

You may still pay extra for hotel activities such as massage, kayaking, kite surfing, glass bottom boat rides, big game fishing, and golfing. You may also walk out of the hotel to the beach and enjoy interesting activities that are all around you.

Kite surfing, snorkeling, taking a quad excursion to see local towns, and visiting historical sites are just a few of the activities available at Diani Beach. Diani Beach is one of the principal beaches on Kenya's Indian Ocean coast and was named Africa's top beach destination from 2014 to 2019.

Day 17

Full-Day Wasini Island Trip with Lunch

Today you will spend the day touring Wasini Island, one of Kenya's hidden jewels. Our tour guide will meet you at 7 a.m. and transport you to Shimoni. Throughout the journey, you will have the opportunity to witness sugarcane crops, cassava fields, palm palms, and rural settlements.

The island is roughly 75 kilometers south of Mombasa and about 3 kilometers off the coast of the Indian Ocean from the Shimoni settlement. When you arrive at Shimoni, a local guide will take you on a tour of the caverns where enslaved individuals were imprisoned before being brought to the slave market in Zanzibar.

After that, you'll take one of Shimoni's classic Arabian Dhows to Kisite Mpunguti Marine Park. This will be an interesting marine trip where you will be able to see dolphins and turtles.

To spice things up, you will learn how to snorkel with the help of experienced guides while experiencing the rich underwater wildlife and vegetation.

Your lunch will be provided on Wasini Island at a cliff-top restaurant, where you can take in the breathtaking scenery while eating great seafood.

In the afternoon, you will have the opportunity to tour the island's mangrove forest, as well as the stunning coral garden and fishing villages, to learn about the local culture.

After exploration on the island, you will head back to your hotel, where you will have dinner and spend the night.

Day 18

Evening Flight to JKIA for Your International Flight

It's the final day of this fascinating and adventurous trip to Kenya.

It will be the ideal moment to recharge your batteries with a relaxing stay at the hotel. You may still participate in some of the hotel's extra-cost activities or simply rest while waiting for your journey to Nairobi.
